Meet your new BFF

What I love more than products (self proclaimed product whore here) are products that serve multi purposes. One of my latest obsessions is Monistat Chafing Powder Gel.......... as a makeup primer.

Wait, ewww you say? Yes I am refering to a company known for making products for feminine problems , but this one is different. Its marketed use is for chafing on sensitive areas; thighs, bikini lines, etc and is a part of their new Soothing skin care line. What has me sold is its quality and cost effectiveness. This product has a price tag of less than $7 for 50% more product than in your name brand makeup primers. But best of all is its quality. I was pretty skeptical at first, I always have to see it to believe it. After reading rave reviews from other blogs and professionals, I had to get me some. Low and behold, I'm a believer!

How it works
This product contains
a large amount of dimethicone, which is the active ingredient in the expensive primers. Dimethicone serves as a barrier that smooths out your skin's surface, which allows for better makeup application and lasting power. This barrier prevents your skins natural oils from breaking through to your foundation. Say goodbye to greasy, oily skin! At the same time, it prevents your makeup from getting in, which means your makeup will stay fresh all day.

Why you will love it
· Dries to a powder finish.
· Creates a matte surface for better makeup application.
· Smooths skin texture, fills fine lines (making you look younger)
· Great for priming eyelids for longer lasting, more intense eye shadows.
· Helps prevent breakouts.
· Doesn't feel greasy.
· Makeup stays on for 8+ hours, looking as good as when first applied. Even in Hawaii's weather!
· Excellent mattifier for men! Applied alone or over moisturizer.
· Fragrance free and non-comedogenic.

How to use it
Apply after prepping skin with moisturizer and before your makeup concentrating on areas with fine lines or rough texture, allowing to dry for a few minutes in between. You can even mix it with your favorite foundation for a two in one effect. (If your foundation is alcohol based, you may have some trouble with the mixing method, as this product is silicone based. Silicone + Alcohol = Plastic)

Are you in love yet?

Pretty, pretty things.

Having 2 weeks off allows you to catch up on things neglected, typically; cleaning, correspondence, sleep. For me? Photo shoots. But to each his own, right? I had the pleasure of working with a few new models and photographers and some of my favorites as well. Here's a little peak into what I do for a living. I have such a boring job, I know.
